Is EyeSci Angels Right for You?
Who We Are Built For
We built EyeSci Angels for accredited investors who value disciplined, domain-specific diligence and want meaningful exposure to early-stage ophthalmology.
EyeSci Angels is a strong fit for:
Ophthalmologists and ophthalmic specialists who want to channel domain expertise into informed early-stage investing
Life science and healthcare investors seeking focused exposure to ophthalmology with the benefit of clinical and operational diligence
Executives and entrepreneurs from the ophthalmic industry who understand the commercialization landscape and want to invest alongside it
Sophisticated investors from outside medicine who want focused exposure to ophthalmology on the strength of domain-specific expertise
Physicians and professionals who are new to angel investing and want a structured, low-pressure environment in which to learn and engage before deciding how to participate
A Clear-Eyed View of Early-Stage Investing
Early-stage investing in ophthalmology involves real and meaningful risk. Companies fail. Timelines extend. Regulatory paths turn out to be harder than anticipated. These are not hypothetical risks. They are the defining characteristics of the asset class. EyeSci Angels is not the right home for capital you cannot afford to lose or cannot commit for an extended period.
At the same time, early-stage ophthalmology investing offers something later-stage investing does not: access to transformative innovation before institutional capital has already priced in the upside. We are built to help members navigate that tension with clarity and discipline.
What to keep in mind:
Investments are illiquid and typically require a long-term perspective of five to ten years, sometimes longer
Not every investment will succeed. Portfolio diversification is an important risk management tool.
Capital committed to individual investments should be capital you are prepared to have at risk for an extended period
We source and evaluate opportunities and share our findings with members. Investment, tax, and legal decisions remain entirely your own.
